There must be a good reason why IPods stand out over the rest of the mobile music players… it has absolutely great sound quality… especially when used with speciality headsets depending on individual listening choices of the users…. the very sleek NANO is amazing… the IPod family by far is the current mobile-music fashion statement…. great product.

IPod is a very tough unit and you can use it while jogging or working out…. it is a unit you can easily get addicted to… We have a few of us at Island Music who use the different models of Ipod extensively and it has proved very reliable. Its not the cheapest of the MP3 or Mobile players but they most certainly give their money’s worth in terms of performance and style and in most cases keep the owner happy …. A couple of accessories I would highly recommend is to buy a separate charger for it in case you travel around and do not carry a laptop or any other USB device while tarveling… and a anti-slip gel cover.

From what I know, it’s gotta a hard disk in it – for the high capacity ones. I’m not very sure if it’s shock proof. I think there are models without a hard disk which may be better for rough usage, like when exercising. Would be good to check with the vendor and read the specs first.

iPod is not the toughest MP3 brand in the market, but its accessories protect the iPod where ever you go. It’s meant to be used outdoor or indoor and even while at home or at work. Its accessories are made to full fill any particular choice of its user, whether you go out for a run or stay at home and enjoy your favorite music. To find out more on its accessories and the iPod family visit our website http://www.reefsidemaldives.com or http://www.apple.com. At Reefside 1 & 3 you can test, listen and buy your own iPod. iPod is truly a remarkable music player that is definitely the one for the future.

I have a 3rd-generation 20-gigabyte iPod (from December ’03, before they had the annoying click wheel), and it’s great. I can fit my 5000+ song collection into a compact space (well, more compact than the hundreds of CDs I’d have to burn), and since I’m an obsessive freak, I want all those songs with me all the time.
I recommend that you get one of these, because the iPod battery is crap without it. It uses 4 AA batteries to add 12-15 hours of battery life (and the site isn’t lying about those numbers, I have one and it works the same way for me). Also, get a cover or skin as soon as possible because it scratches easily. My iPod’s pretty durable (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped it, it happens so often), but the back gets fingerprints and scratches like anythng, even just by holding it for a little bit.
Anyways, the pros are having a bunch of stuff with you at one time, and it’s smaller (and, in my opinion, more aesthetically appealing) than the Dell DJ. The cons are that you have to pay extra just to maintain it, be its appearance or its battery life.
Consider how much space you need, then use that to help you decide which iPod is best for you. If you don’t have many pictures, or if you know you don’t have the time to show everyone all those pictures, there’s no need for you to blow a few hundred dollars on an iPod when you can get a simpler camera for less than a hundred. If you don’t listen to as much music as I do, save your money and get a lower-end iPod or other MP3 player. My friend has an MP3 player that is just 256MB, and he’s fine with it, because he only listens to a few songs and uses extra space to store important files. It just depends on your needs, I guess.

Yupp, agree with all the comments above. Watch out though, the Nano scratches like Crazy! However, if you do get one and it does get scratched, check this link out on how to remove some of the scratching http://tinyurl.com/b8czt

IPoda are great media players. Aesthetically pleasing and the user interface as well as the scrolling wheel is unmatched by any other players. However it is important to note that it has certain limitations which rivals players for the same budget do no have. Features such as line in recording, fm radio. Another issue is that of the file formats it can play. To my knowledge it can play only apple’s propeitary AAC format and Mp3. Rival players from Creative, Samsung, Iriver ..etc can play a variety of formats such as WMV, OGG, besides Mp3. As the majprity of computer users in Maldives use Pc’s and Windows, the inabilty to play WMV format certainly an issue for me. Another issue is that you are limited to using Apple’s Itunes for syncing and adding music to your ipod, although there are various hacks available online which can overcome that.
