Tabs vs. Sight Reading – What’s your choice?
So you’re always looking for guitar tabs. They are easy to read and even a pre-schooler could read numbers. So, what exactly is a Tab? Why do you find it useful?
The others would argue that they prefer to read standard music notation (Sight Reading) and that they really do not know what tabs are. Some may have never even looked at it for more than a few seconds. They claim tabs are limited.
So, for whom is a tab and for whom is notation? Has each got its own purpose?
What’s your choice? Or, is it none of the above?

This is an interesting topic……I love to talk about this but..will be be long…so in short..first I would like to mention….in Tablature…..you can get the music notes by the numbers..BUT YOU WILL NOT GET the rhythm. You can only get the rhythm if you ONLY knw the song. ( digital tabs – plays the gets you the beat of the song )
But a standard music notation comes along with both…and many more like… dynamics. .tempo. .key signatures…modulation.. etc… so. its up you guys to choose ..

very true “finallyfree”! when I was in school I followed tab on some brass intruments… the fingureing which was much wager than the guiter tab… cos on a valved brass intrument, u can play several notes with just one finguring, depending on the harmonic series. So I was really very eager to find out a solution for this. And finally came to know about music notation and sight reading. So guys… if you cant memorize a piece of music… go for sight reading and never tab.
