Bohemian Rainbow Concert
for love, peace and Rock n’ Roll

Show date: Friday 2nd June
Venue: Olympus
Tickets: RF 20/-
* Tickets available at Pizzeria
The Bohemian Rainbow Concert is all about reliving the spirit of the 70’s.
Towards the end of the 60’s there was a noticeable boom, in creativity, music, arts and literature – all a result of the freedom which people found in their minds.
The Bohemian Rainbow Concert is an attempt to create a similar “Rainbow Gathering†to so many which took place in the late 60’s and the 70’s where music was cherished and it was all done for the honor of love, peace and harmony. The Rainbow Concert is to embrace love, peace and most of all Rock and Roll.
The Concert
The concert will feature exceptional young musicians bringing back the pure spontaneity and creativity of the 70’s music scene. The artists include a fusion of members from bands including Gianscore (winners of last year’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ contest); The 70’s Poster Band; and Athi (Mariyam Athif) who has been inspired to bring this creative energy into a reality.
This concert will also feature guest appearances by many young musicians who have made a positive impact on the youth; including Haisham and Sappy (of Palm Fever); Appi, Shuau, Faya, Popa, etc. Last but not the least, there will be special appearances by X-Ray Athif.
The Concept
The concert focuses on the embracing of a bygone era when music came alive and originality instead of commerciality was appreciated and celebrated. The birth of great bands and acts of compassion flourished in the 70’s. The entire concert hopes to act as a stepping stone to bring resourcefulness and creativity of the youth.
The concert is a non-profit event as the youth is inspired to celebrate the music of the 70’s for its non-commercial take on creativity.
The 70’s also gave birth to an art scene of retro and psychedelic art that evolved with the music of this bygone era and identified with it. This form of art will be the theme and concept of the stage design which will be completed by a team of young emerging artists whose aim is to recreate the look and the feel of the Bohemian era.
As the 70s has shown that Rock n’ Roll can fully be enjoyed only by standing up, all the seats in Olympus will be removed for the show. This will be the first time that Olympus will host a show without any seats!

This is simply great! A show a month will bring quite a change to the musical movements in our society. More leisure activities will probably make us music fanatics more enthusiastic about their every day life.
