This is very creative and though full. I believe these kind of help should me provided to all those who need. I think this is a opportunity for the new bands to come forward and show what they really made of. I will help by visiting the show. what kind of music will be performed on the show. Hope to some Blues + Jazz.

[...] I just read an article about the “Thalassaemia fund raiser event to be held on thursday.” from eXpo’s blog and Music in Maldives blog. I was really impressed with the community’s support for this event. I guess it would be great to give this much support to the rest of the Thalassaemia patients. I am not saying to give each patient an individual fund riser event. But there are many ways for you to join the fight against Thalassemia and contribute to this important cause. Any sort of help no matter how large or small would count. The Best help they could receive is your blood. Give blood…Thalassemia patients are the largest users of blood supplies over the world. If my information is not wrong, an average of 17 blood donors are needed daily for NTC (National Thalassaemia Center) and those patients and their parents find it really difficult and painful to find a blood donor. You could help them by giving blood or arranging blood donation campaigns (blood drives) in our community, you can provide a lifeline to Thalassemic’s across the country. By the way.. there are 500+ Thalassaemia patients in Maldives and many are not so lucky to do the bone marrow transplant. The only way to help them is donating your blood regularly. So donate blood and save a life!! [...]

Just like Pink Floyd says -

    Don’t be afraid to care.

Just came back from the show with mixed feelings.

Music wise we missed fayid’s expertise at the show tonight. The sound, especially during the local bands performance was really unbearable/a let down for the audience. The Srilankan Band tried to salvage the show but by then most of the audience had left.

It seems they raised 82,000Rf from the show for her. Such an event at the carnival stage usually costs somewhere around 100,000 minimum so in hindsight it might have been better to give her that money without the show. If I’m not wrong bone marrow transplant costs over 300,000 rf of which half is given by the gov (or SHE).

As mindlessMJ has written up donating blood is the most helpful and important (doesnt cost you a dime) thing anybody can do for thalassaemia patients. My cousin has to recieve blood weekly (since now she’s 16) and it really is a painful thing finding donors especially if its not O positive blood group.

I appluad the efforts of everyone involved in this event for such a noble cause however in future such charity events must be organised in a more productive and fruitful manner
