Azraf on YouTube

Watch the first Maldivian video song released (to our knowledge) on youtube. ‘vilaa tharithakaa’ from the self titled album ‘Azraf’ which would be released by Atollrecords in early March 2007. All songs on the album are originals.

hmmm… i wonder guess only ppl from the artists family side has the nerve to post a comment or two… or it is the administration of this blog who keeps a barrier in between wats not n wat is…

anyway.. speaking quite frankly… DUDE YOUR SONG [... del ...] ! i mean for god sake just get a record from the seventies (ranzamaan) that goes around… anyone who takes sum time reviewing wat is being sung wud quite much realize the fact that the poems are awesome… there are [... del ...] hard n fast rules that follows up a poem… never loose that essence… but the solos riffs n stuff.. they do sound fine…

get sum work done with the words that are being sung… u dont just go speaking ur heart out to a tune with no rules…

    best of luck next time…

I diasgree with ‘anonymous’ view that all songs of the 70′s reflect good poetry. Indeed there has been good ones which has seen the test of time, but what about songs like ‘loabivaa yey theyree, loabivaa ey meyreee”? I wouldnt call them bad songs either.

This is not just an exception. In those days it was quite common to put hindi words in just like we do nowadays with english words. It reflects the societal discourse of that era. So I think the lyrics of today reflect todays’s society as well the artists individual style.

Hard n fast rules only makes the songs more rigid and uncreative. Whether something works or not would only be relfected with time.

(by the way am no relation to the artiste :)

  7. song's fine but .... Says:

why is he trying to sing in that tone??!!!

it sounds kinda stupid. his original voice is fine. maybe he cud try singing those parts at a little high pitch (not too high) but use his own voice. dont think it will ruin the song. i dont really know how to explain it. but i think that “tone” really doesnt go with the song.

Hmmm….I agree with yoops…..But i song and the video. Great improvement! Keep it rolling guys!!

  9. OriyaanBuru Says:

nope.. this is not the 1st dhivehi song to be uploaded on youtube. i\’ve seen atleast 1 video before this was uploaded on youtube!

  10. nihii Says:

so guys give the artist some pointers that cud help him improve the furthure developments if you say it’s good why? and if it’s not why again? cause we need to forcus on originality and creativity and if ure interested in locol original products as locals we all have to right to comment and develop them in any manner we can right…?

  11. nubunaanamo Says:

oh come on, anybody cud take any video and upload it on youtube. soo, using the word “realesed” juz isn’t right.

abt the song, one word = cliche
