‘The Clove’ live in Bradford on August 10th 2007

The Clove is an ‘all genre’ band formed in June 2007. The band consists of five members, Ritte (Lead Vocals & Rythm guitar), Aya (Lead Guitar), Katarey (Bass guitars), Thu (drums) and Alho on keys.

Flying from the beautiful Island nation of Maldives, Rittey will be meeting you all at the Centenary Square with full of zest and vigor to give you all a rocking performance on the 10th August 2007.

The show will be non stop from noon to evening. Rittey will be performing with the youngest, most talented rocking musical band from the Maldives THE CLOVE. The Clove is a band which was formed by pulling out talent from all corners of the Maldivian music industry.

The band is more of an “overall genre” band rather than a band which sticks to one genre of music. The clove was formed early in 2007. The main reason for this was that Thotho and the Gang, a band formed with the sole purpose of publicizing Thotho, the young drummer prodigy, had to take a step back for a while in order for Thotho to proceed with his studies.

This band morphed into the clove with massive changes, such as change in members and the overall style of the band. This morphing formed The Clove, where Thotho is supposed to play more of a guest appearance role rather than a fulltime job, thus giving him time for studies. Though this is the case, it is fairly reasonable to say that Thotho and The Gang will be back with Thotho as a full time drummer.

It would not be wrong to say that The Clove is one of the potentially best bands in the Maldives. The band is endorsed by Anitec Studios and Apollo Holdings, which is a major company in the Maldives today. Being a new band to the music industry The Clove has not yet performed anywhere other than inside the walls of Anitec Studios. Even though this is the case, its first album is already in process.

From all points of view it seems that The Clove has a bright future ahead of them.

THE CLOVE will be meeting their local fans on the Alimas Carnival premise on 7th September 2007. Stay tuned…

*ahem* thotho a prodigy?..er…isn’t that… stretching it a bit? well if thotho is a drummer prodigy, i’m a guitar virtuoso! w00t!!!! [... del ...] paul gilbert!!

i’m sure THE CLOVE comprises of members really talented, but calling a band that haven’t ever performed out in public the “potentially best band in the Maldives” seems….well, you know, stupid? i’m sure the band members have live experience from prior bands and/or performances though. even so, it is just sugar-coated and, you know, stupid.

lol. well talented instrumentalists has spawned in Male as of late. few of them not even adults. so after seeing people like them actually perform, you can understand that the audience may find it hard to take your word for THE CLOVE being the “potentially best band in the Maldives”. but as i mentioned before, i’m sure they are very, very talented to land a gig in somewhere in europe.
