shani’s abysmal voice was drowned out by a lot of effects.
did any of you happen to hear her sing The Cranberries’ “Zombie” at the carnival a few years ago? she sang the whole song flat. ..it…was horrible *sob*
imo, she should take singing lessons before calling herself a professional singer. (i also saw her perform at the “thi handhaanugaa” show recently, believe me, she needs this)

jinni u seem to knw quite a lot bt music;)its quite a common thing professional singers singing sharp or flat during live performances.international big stars sing sharp or flat even on world wide broadcasted shows as huge as the grammies.
tell me who doesn’t sing sharp or flat anywhere.its rare to fiind a maldivian always singing in pitch. go check more international live shows will ya.once avril lavigne sang “in my world” totally flat in one of her shows.does tht make her unprofessional? don’t think so.
and in tht perticular show there was a reason for shani to sing like tht.whn she came on stage her mic’s battery was down.the band had to start all over again.since it was a on the spot arranged charity show the organiziers had many probs.anyhow she tried her best its worth to appreciate her effort.
by the way u need to do a research on r&b and hip hop too.electronic music won’t be completed without these vocal effects.pls listen to more of ths genre too.it wud be really odd if u keep the vocals dried up.this not jazz or classical.
and believe me too, there were much worst cases on “thihandhaanuga”.statistically artists who have sung more songs than shani and who are more famous than her did embarssingly dreadfull.its a shame TVM even allow to publicast these out of tune trash.
Maldivians still doesn’t know much bt music and always criticizes in the wrong ways.it’s really sad whn ppl like u doesn’t appreciate the work these few talented artists does.if u r always like that there is no chance for anyone to improve.
if u r not such a shani fan go comment on ur maldivian idol elsewhere kekek.

, there is a point where the pressure of performing live and unprofessionalism can be distiguished.
i am not a musician or anything, but i can tell if somebody can sing or not. and shani, sorry to tell you, is not very good. and anybody who knows anything about music at all would surely agree.
yes, if avril lavigne sang THE WHOLE SONG flat, that makes her unprofessional. she should be ashamed lol.
i saw chris cornell singing horribly once, he messed up little parts of the song. but performing on a 2 hour concert will tire anybody. there is a difference between that and shani coming on stage just to sing one song and singing it flat.
i had the pleasure of seeing amazon jade perform live, unoosha didn’t mess up like that. yous ee what i’m talking about?
and yeah, vocal effects are commonplace in electronic music. my point was that her horrible voice was drowned out by them, which actually made it more pleasent for my ears
i agree with you on thi handhaanuga.
lastly, i find it hard to appreciate unprofessional work. perhaps you are a friend or family of shani, or maybe you’re shani herself, or, you;re just a supporter, i don’t really care. many maldivians need to learn to handle criticism.

see? now you’re blaming those who criticize for bad singers (like shani).
learn to handle criticism.
*sigh*
