Inter School Singing Competition 2008
With the intention of fostering and encouraging the development of the musical talents of school students, the National Centre for the Arts is hosting the competition with major changes to the format of the previous competitions. These changes include the combination of the Atolls Singing Competition and Male’ schools singing competition into one major competition which all the schools will have an equal opportunity to participate in. To be qualified for the Inter School Singing Competition, schools from the 8 regions of Maldives will have to participate in the Schools Regional Singing Competition scheduled to be held from 8th to 21st June. Top ten contestants from each age group of each region will go forth to contest in the Inter School Singing Competition in November.
From six regions, 495 students from 34 schools, and 47 students as independent contestants, a total of 500 students will be taking part in the Schools Regional Singing Competition.
