overall opinion – expected somethng more when i bought the album, but unfortunately the actual experience was disappointing. there were a few highlights though- track 9,7.

tracks 5,8,11 all stuff i have heard before remixed.

abit concerned about the success of this album…cruising was far ahead of what this is in my book…fasy’s identity didnt really come out loud in this album…theres more zero degrees here than fasy if i am to be blunt…a little bit gased coz just spent mrf 150 on the cd too.. so my opinion could also be bias as my wallet is feeling a little ripped…

    ah anyways….

  3. Picasso Says:

Hehe! thats a tough question? better call Fayid in private…

  4. damaged Says:

“Cruising” by far is the best by Fasy yet. After “Cruising” Fasy seems to be lost in an identity crisis of sorts. Haven’t heard Silver in its entirety but, “No one of the mountain’s” comment seems to spell it out – sounds more Zero Degree than Fasy.

HIs originality not reflected , better start concentrating on his Guitar solos and beautiful compositions.

as much as i hate to criticize, the sound is very flat on the cd…there is no depth…the boduberu’s lack the groove coz its so flat…the mixing makes the boduberu sound like a tin or to put it in dhivehi “dhalhu”…i just feel a little let down coz fasy truly has the potential of being absolutely great…but the direction he has taken with this silver album is totally “not” the right one, since his return to the music scene in male’ he has gone from being the maldivian guitar hero to someone that is doing things not to enhance or sustain that perception we all had of him… and on top of this problem, silver created a weak on post production, so the sound is not as good as it could have been…sorry to say, bouncing back from this will be a tough gig…

i hope the upcoming live event by fasylive will control the damage from this silver album.

unfortunately i couldn’t go to the actual gig. but ive listened to the album a few times. from vengeance i could really see the colours of ibbe ,fasy and addo in it. their true identity on cd. and after listening to silver, i believe they have taken not one, but a few steps behind. because i do not see even a glimpse of who fasy is or even ibbe or addo.unless they really are as cheesy as these hindhi music copying freaks n male’. sure their skills are there as usual. we all know that not many of us can play as fast as fasy while performing so wildly.. and his solo’s are so breath taking as ever. and ibbe can play faster than anyone we know in male’. he can endure beats that no one can in male’. but who will remember a tune from those solo pieces after they go back home.. i believe a good piece of music is not a necesarily a complex one. a good piece of music or shall i say, a succesful piece is a piece of music which relates to many ppl. and a piece of music which anyone can hum along to. in dhivehi terms, ppl would say ‘ vai ga hifaa kahala ‘. because we have to keep in mind that music is a language and what we do by playing music is passing messages through music, using it as a medium for communication. and if what we talk about while we play music is too complex, ppl will find it hard to digest. its funny that i should mention this when im talking about the great fasylive, because a band of their calibre MUST know what i am talking about already. if not , i dont understand how they have gained their position as one of the best bands in male’. or are they? u decide. i will not vote for them, but i will still keep hope for them as they have done a lot for this music industry.. but i want to tell them to stop misleading this music industry at this very fragile state.

one more thing, about identity. and this is very important.

fasylve’s silver – is a huge name. even on the cover, looking all grand.. as if its the highlght of their career’s.. seems as if its the ultimate dhivehi album fasylive wud come up with. to make fasy’s mark on dhivehi music’s history. but after listening to the few original tracks made js for this album.. i fear some songs were so much alike zero degree songs that didn want to beleve that it is fasy live playing even. callin it a fasylive song is a bit embarrasing for me because, there is this one song which the intro plays 80% of miskithu vakaru from zero degree. theres billions of OTHER different chord progressions. and about fehima libas, was it not Ahmed’s song ? m not sure, but if im not mistaken, i think it was Ahmed who sings in the Island pulse Album too. and i dont see what nashid has to do with that song. a complete waste of time to mix crowds wth zero degree atoll. its not necesarry for FASYLIVE to cover a zero degree atoll song. its about time ppl let those songs be. elava thah meehun dhen mihen kulhe, ehen kulhe mihaaru hadhaane nahadhaane gotheh neih elava thakah. congrats to the great vocal performances by the young ladies. but that zero degree song (in my opinion) has no importance in being in the track list.some ppl who’ve seen american idol would know that, if u want to cover a song, make sure it sounds exactly 100% the same as the original (which will still be second best to the original) or make it ur own style ( so that u get to keep ur own personality in that song ). but i see that fehima libas was a very disappointing remix to the original.

what is ur identity fasylive. look at urselves in the mirror and listen to vengeance again. what are ur origins and what kinda music do u really love to play. i suggest u go back to that day when u three first met to make the band and start from there. uve strayed too far from ur goal i fear..

i hv a feeling that you also wanted to come up wth a dhivehi album since u heard a lot of other musicians in male’ are also coming up with their original dhivehi stuff.. and since u could do it, u thought of doing it first. and i wonder who will remember the fact that its the ‘first ever live recording’ of an album. whats so important about a title. skill can only go so far.

but i wud still definitely go to ur live performances, who would want to miss the closest thing to a circus in male’.
