Sonicbith – Build Your Own Plugins
According to Sonicbirth’s website, it is an audio-unit design application released under a GPL license. It claims to be a first in its class paving the way for you design your own plugins! This could be done from existing circuits or from scratch in 32-bit or 64-bit. Prebuilt plugins include EQs, compressors, reverbs, synths, width enhancers, gates and MIDI-controllers.

By the looks of it this software certainly has a lot scope for developing unique signal processing abilities. I’ll stop short of a review until I can give a try. fortunately there are lot of pre built plugins to experiment. I’ll certainly try the valve warmer plugin.
SSL’s got couple of free quality plugins although not opensource at http://www.solid-state-logic.com/music/section_free_plug-ins.asp
PS. Does anybody know where I can buy blank cassette tapes?
